Todd Grenich, Founder & CEO

Todd has over 20 years of experience in the utility sector with some of the world’s largest providers including two Berkshire Hathaway held utilities, as well as the largest US electric power utility, and the largest US water utility.
Since 2006 Todd has focused on renewable energy development, providing financial solutions to complex tax and incentive based projects. Prior to founding EcoPower Capital Todd was the Senior Vice President of Finance and Asset Management for Envision Solar International, Inc. a commercial scale solar development and finance company trading under the ticker EVSI, prior to that he was CFO at Generating Assets, a solar project development and financial solutions company.
Todd helped launch and remains the Finance Committee chair of SolarTech, a national solar organization focused on reducing solar energy transaction and installation costs. As the chair Todd has led the standardization of several commercial agreements, most notably; a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) released in 2009, an Engineering, Procurement, and Control (EPC) agreement released 2010, and an Operating Lease agreement released in 2011. In addition the committee has reviewed multiple project finance models for accuracy and is currently developing a project due diligence standard and is leading a regional bank education program to encourage local solar energy lending. Todd is an Advisory Board Member for the International PV Module Quality Assurance Forum headed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado.
Todd has an Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Washington.

 

Edwin F. Feo, Chairman

Edwin F. Feo is a pioneer in renewable energy development and finance. Currently, he is a co-founder and managing director of Coronal Management LLC, a fund manager investing in distributed generation projects and affiliated with Panasonic Eco Solutions.  He previously was a founder of USRG Renewable Finance, a renewable energy finance company. In 2011, USRGRF arranged the senior debt financing for 375 MW of rooftop PV projects over in multi-year development programs. Mr. Feo is also a managing director of Seaward Road Capital, a private equity firm focused on providing growth capital and strategic management to sustainable infrastructure companies. Prior to 2010, Mr. Feo was the co-chair of the Global Project Finance practice at the international law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, LLP where he spearheaded the development of one of the first law firm practice groups devoted to renewable energy. Under his leadership, the group closed more than 200 renewable energy transactions for more than $35 billion in capital, and consistently captured every top ranking presented to law firms in the industry.He has been a featured panelist and speaker for numerous publications and industry conferences on nearly every aspect of the renewable energy field.

 

Reid Rutherford, Fund Manager

Reid Rutherford has more than 34 years of business management, finance and venture capital experience. His career has been marked by combining new technologies with innovative financing structures to serve unmet needs. Reid has founded several Silicon Valley finance and technology companies, including: Photon Energy Services, a developer and financier of distributed solar power plants; eFinance Corporation, a pioneer of online credit delivery services; Concord Growth Corporation, which grew to become one of the largest independent California commercial finance companies; and Research Applications for Management, a provider of decision support software for transit agencies throughout North America. He received a BA, cum laude in Religion from Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif. and an MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in Palo Alto, Calif.

 

Dustin Keele, SVP Structured Finance

Mr. Keele brings proven expertise in developing and financing distributed solar photovoltaics. In addition to his role at EP Capital, Mr. Keele is the Executive Vice President of Photon Energy Services. Mr. Keele co-founded Photon in 2006 to create the financial technology needed to deploy cost-effective renewable energy power plants in the U.S. His work on financial and rate analysis models have enabled Photon to generate more than $40 MM in solar funding through Power Purchase Agreements and Bonds. Mr. Keele served as an advisor to the California Energy Commission for the 2011 Integrated Energy Policy Report. He spoke at the 2010 and 2011 InterSolar Conferences, casting a vision to create “Solar as an Asset Class” in the U.S. Mr. Keele serves on the Finance Committee for SolarTech, an industry consortium responsible for creating standardized solar documentation and permitting processes. Prior to joining Photon, Mr. Keele developed award-winning sales and marketing automation systems for emerging companies and managed nationwide commercial real estate portfolios for publicly traded corporations. Mr. Keele graduated from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business (BBA) magna cum laude.

 

Karen Morgan, Senior Advisor

Karen Morgan is a long-time veteran of the cleantech energy industry, Ms. Morgan has held a number of senior positions in successful start-ups and in both wind and solar PV projects. Formerly Managing Partner of AC Solutions LLC, she represented over 500 megawatts of renewable energy assets and President of Envision Solar.

Ms. Morgan served as Principal, GlobalNet Partners, a boutique international advisory & consultancy firm. Ms. Morgan was co-founder and CEO, PetroChemNet Holdings, Inc; in 1999 acquired CheMatch, Inc., secured Series A/B $10M financing and subsequent $32M in follow on venture and strategic investment. Early in her career Ms. Morgan launched T3 Technologies, Inc.

Ms. Morgan received her B.A. in Biology from Boston University.

Mary Rottman, Senior Advisor - Underwriting

For over 25 years, Mary has been on the leading edge of the structured finance markets delivering high value funding and risk management solutions to financial services and solar companies.  She is an expert in fixed income capital markets, securitization and corporate finance and has held executive level and senior management positions at Standard & Poor’s Corporation, Capital Guaranty Insurance Company, Providian Financial Corporation, Transamerica Corporation, Irwin Home Equity Corporation and Alliance Bancorp.  

In renewable energy, Mary has held V.P. Finance positions at San Francisco based companies Q-Cells North America and Clean Power Finance and has consulted to developers, manufacturers, entrepreneurs, finance and private equity companies on variety renewable energy projects and operations assignments.

Mary received her Masters in Public Administration from New York University and a B.A in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley
